This year The Retreat will be holding a number of activities across the city in honour of World Mental Health Day.
The Tuke Centre will be running mindfulness taster sessions for students at the University of York. There will be two sessions 12-12.45 and 1-1.45. If you’re interested please book on beforehand at the YUSU information desk. Click here to download a flyer.
We will also be running a stall in St Helen’s Square where you can come along to find out more about our work, take part in a mental health quiz and take part in an interactive activity aimed at tackling mental health stigma.
We’ll also (weather permitting) be holding a stall outside The Retreat where people can come ask questions as they go past, take part in a mental health quiz and the interactive activity.
During the run up to the Friday we also have the British Institute of Facilities Managers carrying out an exciting refurbishment project on some of the areas that patients and families use the most. You can follow along at home by watching their twitter @BIFM_North.
We’ll also be promoting our Open Days where you can come and learn about the History of The Retreat and find out about the reality of a modern mental health hospital. More information on the open days can be found here.
Finally we’ll be tweeting out various mental health facts and quotes on the day @TheRetreatYork.
Hope you can come and join us.
