Staff at The Retreat in York cycled 15 miles and travelled more than two hours by public transport, in support of York's Car Free Day.
The Retreat ran a campaign to encourage staff to leave their cars at home - to help the environment and reduce congestion in York's streets. Chief Executive Jenny McAleese set an example by travelling to work by foot, train and bus.
Many staff braved the weather and walked, cycled or travelled by public transport to support the campaign, including one member of the catering staff who cycled 15 miles from Selby, while others travelled over two hours on public transport.
Prizes were awarded to those who made the most effort as well as those who walked or cycled the furthest.
