Our services

Scarborough and Ryedale children and young people's service

An NHS-funded service

We provide an Autism Assessment Service which is free at the point of service, for people from within the Scarbrough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) area.

PLEASE NOTE: You cannot refer yourself to the Scarbrough and Ryedale Autism Assessment Service. A referral has to be made by a health or social care professional.

What does the service offer?

  • Screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Assessment and diagnosis of ASD

Getting an Assessment

  1. If you think that your child has Autism you should contact your GP. Your GP can refer him or her for an assessment as they have access to the correct referral form.
  2. If you are working with a Social Worker or with the local Community Mental Health Team you can contact them. They can make a referral for an assessment.

If your child already has a diagnosis of Autism  then they will not be able to access our NHS-funded service, which is for assessments only.
