Governance

We believe that Governance is a fundamental part  of our work at The Retreat as we ensure that the services we offer are compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.  Patient safety is at the heart of what we do.  

Our governance systems and processes enable us to improve the quality of care that the people who use our services receive. To enable us to take learning from incidents and events we are proactive in the use of Root Cause Analysis and robust investigations, which allow us to develop our processes and allow us to continually improve our quality of care.

Governance is everyones responsiblitiy from Ward to Board.  We have put in place a structure that links with staff working with our patients  on a day to day basis right through to the Trustees of the organisation.

Our Quality team consists of complaince, risk management and audit officers.  The team is responsible for:

  • Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs)
  • Subject access requests
  • Complaints and concerns  
  • The audit processes across both clinical and non clincial areas 
  • Risk management
  • Incident management
  • Notifications
