Katherine Allen is a gender specific unit for older people (female), presenting with challenging behaviours of either an organic or functional nature. The unit provides person-centered recovery orientated interventions in a stimulating environment.
Allis is a mixed gender unit for older people. The service provides person centered recovery interventions in a stimulating environment. The aim of the unit is to provide a service that empowers the older person with complex, challenging and long standing mental health issues to maintain their dignity and maximise their independence.
It is essential that candidates are a Registered Mental Health Nurse. The ideal candidates will also be committed to high standards of Professional Nursing Practice and have good written, verbal and IT skills.

The Acorn programme is a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed residential Therapeutic Community. The programme uses intensive psychological therapies for women who engage in self defeating behaviours including self harm and disordered eating to cope with emotions and relationships. Many have experienced trauma or abuse.
Our approach to treatment relies on building relationships which enable a joint attempt to understand the behaviours and to find alternative ways to manage the underlying problems.
It is essential that the candidate be a Registered mental Health Nurse. You do need to have a mature outlook, be a thoughtful person who is willing to think psychologically and with a genuine interest in working with this patient group in a way that promotes responsibility and choice. We can offer specific training in DBT as well as offering you the opportunity to develop your skills in group work, in building therapeutic relationships and in managing risk through collaboration.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Project Manager to be responsible for the development of the Intensive Psychological Rehabilitation Programme (East Villa), a community based PD service for men.
In the Spring of 2012 The Retreat will be opening a new day therapeutic community for men with personality disorders. The Therapeutic community will be informed by DBT and will aim to maximize the potential of all its clients to live independent prosocial lives. This community based service will provide a flexible programme with a two day therapeutic core and additional skills based activity days. The service will be developed in cooperation with other agencies and guided by service user involvement.
The Retreat is looking for someone with experience of Therapeutic Communities for men with personality disorders within either mental health and/or forensic environments to provide project management and to open this service.

We are currently looking to appoint a number of support workers across various units at The Retreat.
The successful candidates will support patients in maintaining activities of daily living, such as helping with meals and supporting engagement in meaningful occupation. Duties will include participation in educational and supervision activities and ensuring that the clinical environment is maintained to the highest standards.
Applicants would ideally have experience of working in a Mental Health environment, and a full clean driving license.

Previous experience in kitchens is preferable but not essential.
Duties include washing pots, cleaning and other associated tasks as required. Uniform will be provided for the successful candidate. Hours of work are 2.30pm to 6.30pm every Wednesday, working alternate weekends Saturday 2.30pm to 6.30pm and Sunday 10.00am 2.00pm Sunday. Flexibility to cover holidays, some bank holidays including Christmas and New Year and sickness is essential.
The successful candidate is required to provide a CRB disclosure, with this expense met by The Retreat.

Allis is a mixed gender unit for people who are able to be more independent but still need high level support. People on this unit have complex, high intensity needs but are more independent than people on some of our other Older Adult units.
The Cottage is a step down unit for men who need additional time to develop emotional and practical skills for independent/supported living. This unit is situated in the grounds of The Retreat with access to all its facilities. This unit is for people who need longer term hospital based rehabilitation and who are aiming to live in a supported housing scheme or independently.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking, and self-motivated individual to become a key member of our team. Excellent leadership skills are essential to uphold high standards of care and assist in the implementation of best practice. You will support the Clinical Team Manager in developing the staff team providing and promoting education and professional development. You will be a strong communicator who is open to new ideas and able to lead change.
With a minimum of two years post qualification experience the successful candidate will have a passion for developing a recovery based service for older adults. The Service aims to maximise independent living skills and reduce social isolation. This position involves working shifts including early, late and night shifts.
